MEET OUR TEAM
Emma is one of the inspirations for Independent Grounds Cafe. She's a sophomore at Kennesaw Mountain High School where she works in their coffee shop each morning. Most weekends you'll find her smiling and giggling at Independent Grounds. She loves little kids, animals and competes in gymnastics and takes jazz classes.
Katelyn is the daughter of the owner of Independent Grounds Cafe. A sophomore in high school she is active in both Color Guard and Winter Guard.
Drew is a 2017 graduate of Kennesaw Mountain High School where he worked 4 years in the school's coffee shop, Mountain Top Cafe, as the cashier. He was voted Hoopcoming King his senior year and was nominated for a school superlative. Drew attends Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and serves in VBS, Noah ministry. When Drew is not at the coffee shop he enjoys watching or attending NASCAR races. He is, in fact, Jeff Gordan's biggest fan.
Anita (top), is a devoted wife of almost 21 years to her husband, Jason and the mother of 2 children, Drew and Elaine. She brings 20 plus years of work expeience in the Property Management industry. Other than working at the coffee shop, Anita volunteers at her daughter's school serving as Treasurer of the PTSA Board and is Vice President of Kennesaw Mountain Band Organization. She also attends Burnt Hickory Baptist Church where she currently serves in the choir and Praise Team.
Kathryn (left) is a cashier, barista, mentor and cleaner of all things. She is constantly smiling and will pitch in with any task. We can't get enough of her! She is taking classes at Georgia Highlands College and is studying to be a sign language interpreter.
Alexis is a native of Nashville, TN and a 2017 alumnus of NCHS in Kennesaw. Lexi loves to flash her contagious smile and entertain all with humor. Her dream is to to sign up for college courses and become a child care teacher. She loves working at Independent Grounds Cafe because it shows her great potential!
Ben is currently attending the Transition Academy Program at Pop High School. He's an active swimmer, biker and bowler but also enjoys watching YouTube videos at home. Ben was diagnosed with autism at the age of 5 and is proud of the chance to work at Independent Grounds Cafe.
Andre is a graduate of North Cobb High School and is currently a student at the Cobb County Transitional Academy with hopes of one day being able to attend Kennesaw State University. Andre is active in his church, the Horizon baseball league and Special Olympics swimming, basketball and golf. Andre loves looking at maps and has one of the best smiles at Independent Grounds Cafe.
